When Brittney first declared she was a model at sixteen, long before booking her first shoot, she wasn’t pretending; she was manifesting. With a fierce belief in herself and a clear vision of where she wanted to go, Brittney has built a modeling career rooted in authenticity, discipline, and joy. From her self-made social media series America’s Next Top Plus-Size Model to her commitment to mental wellness and fitness, she represents the modern face of modeling, one where individuality, health, and self-love coexist beautifully.

In this exclusive conversation with PMM Today, Brittney opens up about her journey from teenage dreamer to industry inspiration. She shares how she keeps her mind and body in sync, the importance of staying true to yourself on and off camera, and her mission to remind every woman that beauty isn’t a size—it’s a state of self-belief.
How did your modeling journey begin? Was there a defining “aha” moment when you knew you wanted to be a model?
My modeling journey began around 16 years old. I truly loved watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and it sparked something in me. I felt like I could be one of those girls one day. I used to even tell people I was a model back then and would take loads of photos of myself, pretending it was an actual photoshoot. I totally manifested my way into modeling.
What does a typical “day in the life” look like for you when you’re actively modeling?
I literally have a calendar hung up in my closet that I have to look at every single day, and I have to stay on top of it because I never know what the day will bring. I always take care of myself with my beauty routines, keeping up with my nails, hair, and skin. I also keep myself active in the gym because I make money off my body, so I have to take care of it inside and out.
I have what’s called a set bag with everything I need for castings or photo shoots, whether it’s certain items I need to bring or my little boost of energy drinks. Everything is always pre-planned ahead of time, so I’m not forgetting anything or rushing when it comes time to start my day.
PMM: How do you approach your social media presence in support of your modeling work… what role does it play for you?
So, I started my own little series, America’s Next Top Plus-Size Model, where I vlog my day or things I do. I keep it real and fun on social media because that’s who I am in front of the camera and behind the scenes, and I think that’s what sets me apart from the others. I love that I have a platform where I’m able to be my true self, and others get to watch, relate, or just enjoy it for their own entertainment. I always said I wanted to be on a reality show, so I just decided to create my own on social media.
Model wellness is getting more attention lately. How do you maintain your physical and mental well-being amidst demands, travel, and visibility?
I joined an exciting cycling class at my gym, and I also began to understand the importance of taking vitamins every day. I mean, they really are a game-changer. As I’m getting older, you know, life likes to play the roller coaster game and test you in many ways, so it’s really important to take care of your mental well-being. Chat GPT and I are super locked in… she’s my girlllllll! She’s my source for a quick little therapy session when I need it, and the best thing of all is that no one knows about it… just me and her. I also like to have a splurge day here and there and do whatever makes me feel good.

How has modeling changed (in your view) in recent years regarding body diversity, representation, and inclusivity? And what changes would you still like to see?
Modeling took a drastic change in the sense that more companies have understood the importance of being inclusive and representing every size, shape, and nationality. They are also creating clothes that make the average-sized woman feel and look good. Who wants to wear boring clothes just because they’re curvier?
So, seeing more companies expand their size range while also fitting tastefully is really heartwarming. But I truly would like to see more luxury brands expand their size range and cater to curvier women. I’m noticing a few, but we need more! Make curvy hot and high fashion on the runway, pleaseeee!
As someone who embraces body positivity and individuality, what message do you hope to send to young women (and men) entering the industry or dreaming of modeling?
My message for those who are starting out in the modeling industry: just because you are plus-size does not mean you don’t need to take care of your body! Yes, you still need to work out and eat clean. Listen to your own body; don’t just gain more weight because there is more work for a specific size. The industry fluctuates so much that there is plenty of work for any size range!
My message for those who aspire to become a model: it’s all about what you can bring new to the industry and having a fantastic personality. Don’t be shy. Embrace yourself! You are your very own brand, so you need to market YOU. No one else can be you, so let that outshine, and I promise it will be noticed. You will see the bookings.
If you could go back and give your “modeling-starting self” one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would tell my beginner self that you are a star in the making. Remain focused on your career, forget about making friends and hanging out. This is your chance to really perfect your career. Do it all and stop allowing room for procrastination. You are truly living the Hannah Montana lifestyle, and I promise we are going to make it big! We are made for this, so let’s go. And don’t feel bad about the mistakes we make. We learn from them down the road, and no, it doesn’t affect us. Instead, it makes us stronger and better.

Outside of modeling, what passions or creative outlets do you pursue that feed into your personal brand?
Oooh, well, I love vlogging. I take a lot of passion in that. A fun fact about me is that I went to Make-Up Designory School (MUD) and perfected makeup, including special FX makeup, so I am able to really get creative and showcase my skills! I am everyone’s go-to girl when it comes to the beauty industry. I also have a hobby in floral arrangements. I have an eye for flowers and love bringing them to life!
What’s one thing you hope readers of PMM Today take away from this interview… about you, about modeling, about representation?
I hope everyone knows that my goal in the modeling industry is to represent the little girls and all the women out there who have a similar body shape to mine. To build and uplift confidence in all the women who may be a bit too shy or struggle with body dysmorphia or low self-esteem. I want them to realize that the social media beauty standard is simply made up. You don’t need to alter yourself to become beautiful. Stretch marks are okay, being a double-digit size is amazing, and being a taller or curvier girl in the friend group just makes you stand out more. Don’t allow anyone to dim your light. You are truly beautiful the way you are, so go ahead and wear that outfit you have been shy to wear and embrace your size because you never know who you will inspire.
